We had a successful Wine Tasting Event in partnership with Simpsons’ Wine Estate at the beginning of July. Very good attendance and many bottles of wine purchased. The feedback from Customers was overwhelmingly positive and we are thrilled to have been able to co-host this event, providing an opportunity for Customers to taste before committing to a purchase.
Volunteer and Staff holidays are at a peak during the summer months and we are supremely grateful to all those who have stepped in to fill the gaps. Our volunteers summer tea party is scheduled in August as a token of appreciation for all they do throughout the year. Volunteers cover many types of role, not just operating the till but in the office, stocking up, storing deliveries, even writing Shop Talk! If you have a little time to spare on a regular basis and would like to get involved, talk to any of the staff in the first instance, there’s always room for an extra pair of willing hands.
Our plans to improve the shop facility continue. You may have noticed the new bank of fridges with doors replacing the aged open fridges. This has enabled us to store more chilled stock while reducing our energy use. The changes to the back office and rear access to the shop are nearing completion and we are grateful to the Village Hall for the extended use of a room as a temporary office to facilitate this. We have endeavoured to keep disruption to a minimum and hope your experience at the shop has remained a positive one throughout.
Got an Amazon parcel to return? As an Amazon Hub Counter, the Post Office can process Amazon returns as well as safe receipt of parcels for you to pick up at your convenience.
While you’re just settling in to the school holidays and going back may seem a way off, don’t forget that we stock an amazing rage of good value stationery, perfect to replenish those pencil cases and school bags. Take a look on the wall next to the post office counter when you’re next in.
