School holidays are underway so let’s hope for plenty of sunny summer weather throughout August, not just for those of us taking a well deserved holiday but also for our hard working farmers bringing in the harvest, so evident around us at this time of year.

Direct from the farm at Ash, Chandler and Dunn meat is back in store on a regular basis. We are stocking a small amount of fresh chicken, beef mince, bacon and sausages as well as freshly frozen chicken and mince. If you would like guarantee the meat you need, you can place an order at the shop by Tuesday 10am for delivery to the shop for pick up the next day.

The call out for additional volunteers has been very successful, a big thank you to everyone who has come forward. We have a number of new recruits being trained for the till and we are seeking more to assist with store cleaning and to get the coffee service back up and running. The additional volunteer resources are essential to enable the shop and post office to extend opening hours back closer to the pre-Covid norm. We aim to do this as soon as possible, please keep a look out for further announcements on the BVS notice boards, website and social media.

With the easing of COVID rules, keeping our staff, volunteers and customers safe is paramount. We are all aware there is a higher risk of spreading infection in an indoor setting. The shop and post office is limited in space and so we kindly ask customers to continue to wear a face covering as a preference and to maintain social distancing.
