We are so fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers without whom neither the shop nor post office would exist. Our amazing volunteers continue to keep the shop fully maintained and operational whatever the challenge. There are a vast number of activities in running Barham Village Store, some more visible than others. There are volunteers who reconcile the newspaper vouchers, who check stock use- by dates, who update the website, who take delivery of orders or who maintain appliances. These are just a few examples. Our endeavour is to engage many volunteers who can commit a little of their time, so the load is spread and not too dependent on any one individual. If you have a little time that you could spare to make a difference and be part of an amazing group of people, please do step forward. 1st – 7th June marks Volunteers week, a time to say “THANK YOU” for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. When you next pop in, please recognise our volunteers with a “THANK YOU” for their time and service to the community, it’s so appreciated
18th to 26th June is English Wine Week. We are fortunate to be living in an area that has attracted quite a number of winemakers and delighted that we are able to stock a range of sparkling and still wines from our most local Simpsons Wine Estate as well as Chapel Down and a small selection from the Fifth Trust vineyard.
On Wednesday 5th July from 6pm to 8pm we are joining forces with Simpsons to host a wine tasting event at the shop and village hall. Come along to try out the range of wines that Simpsons have to offer which you can purchase there and then. Do let us know if you intend to come along so that we have an idea of the numbers and enough wine to go round!

Father’s Day is on the 18th June and we have plenty in store to help you with gift ideas, both local and from further afield. The range of local bottled beers from Gadds, Curious Brew, Romney Marsh Brewery and Shepherd Name are popular at this time of year. There are also plenty of canned lagers to choose from too.
Don’t forget that we continue to remain open on a Sunday morning from 9am to 12 noon thanks to our kind and willing volunteers. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
