Spring is in the air! Longer daylight hours, bushes and trees coming into bud, cheerful snowdrops and daffodils in flower. The grass verge beneath the trees in the Valley Road will soon be full of beautiful bright yellow daffodils for us all to enjoy. If you would like some at home, we are stocking bunches of daffodils at a reasonable price. The daffodil of course a symbol for St Davids Day (along with the leek!) and also for Marie Curie cancer care, a charity we are pleased to support throughout the year with a collection box at the till and especially this month with their Great Daffodil Appeal. Wear your daffodil with pride and with care for cancer!
Time to dust off the winter blues and crack on with the annual Spring Clean. We have a wide range of cleaning products including the Jack’s value brands as well as other household names. Jack’s multi-surface cleaning liquid at £1.29 or spray at £1.39. Anti-bac surface wipes, bleach, window cleaner, polish, oven cleaner, descaler, rubber gloves, it’s all available in store and at recommended retail price.
March 7th to 13th is National Butcher’s week, celebrating the great quality meat our butcher’s supply. We are fortunate to be supplied by local Chandler and Dunn Goldstone Butcher’s of Ash who supply home reared beef and lamb and locally reared pork, chicken and turkey. We have a weekly delivery of fresh and frozen meat each Wednesday including beef mince, burgers, sausages, smoked and unsmoked bacon, chicken both diced and whole breast fillets. If you would like to place an order for Chandler and Dunn meat to collect at the shop, even something that we don’t regularly offer like a whole chicken, let us know, we are happy to help.
Mothering Sunday on the 19th March is a special day of celebration for our Mums. If you’re thinking of a gift, we have a good selection of chocolates, something special for every chocoholic Mum, now including the Faversham based Kakawa artisan chocolate bars. There are shower gels and soaps from Romney Marsh wools and aromatherapy treats from Annie Brown. Also a range of sparkling wines from Barham based Simpsons Wine Estate and Prosecco, some already chilled! A range of Noel Tatt and locally created greetings cards also in store.
