From the All the Volunteers and Staff of Barham Village Store, a Very Happy New Year! We hope you have enjoyed a very happy Christmas time with friends and family and are looking forward to 2022 and the new possibilities that are ahead.
Many of you will have seen that we have installed a traffic light system, one each for the Post Office and Shop. The traffic lights have been installed to manage the number of people we have in store to maintain a safe, socially distanced environment. The traffic lights are placed above the entrance door with ‘green’ indicating it’s safe to enter and ‘red’ to wait outside. We accept up to five customers in the Shop and one customer at the Post Office at any one time. Thank you for your support as we continue to manage through the C-19 pandemic.

After the excesses of the yuletide festivities, many of us will be looking for something lighter and a little healthier. We have plenty on offer in store to tempt you with products that are low sugar, low fat and low calorie as well as those for dietary requirements like gluten free and dairy free. Come in and have a browse on our display table to see the full range, you may be pleasantly surprised to find more than you might think
Inevitably after years of use and despite regular maintenance, the shop equipment has started to fail. We have had challenges with fridges and more recently the coffee machine. Sales of machine coffee had been going very well so we are keen to get it back up and running as soon as possible. The management team are reviewing options and a new machine is the likely outcome – watch this space.
As a nation of tea drinkers, we can always make time for a cuppa and on the 17th January, ‘Brew Monday’, the Samaritans remind us to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people we care about. Variety is the spice of life and there are many varieties available in store to try from standard black teas to fruit and herbal tea

Along with the ‘neeps and tatties’ for Burns Night on the 25th January, we’re aiming to source haggis. Look out for further information in store during January.
